Dezrak Stoneforge has lived the majority of his life inside the underbelly
of Talonus, within the Mountain Dwarf city, Dif Gazrak. Dezrak showed great promise, and even wanted to be a Herald
of Vikk'tor since he could speak the words. His parents were close friends of King Hethgar, and managed to get him into
the Heralds at a young age. Dezrak took to runes as a second nature and his uncanny ability to communicate, as
well as his ability with Heraldry, propelled him through the ranks. Dezrak grew into a leadership position by the
time he turned 100, and then the War of Thirteen Kings broke the Mountain Dwarves apart and both of Dezrak's
parents, and King Hethgar, were slain. When the dwarf kings separated, the people of Dif Gazrak banded together.
With Dezrak leading, the dwarves of Dif Gazrak managed to re-seal the Ebongate and halt any hope that the other clans
may have had at defeating the city. Kingless, Dezrak took on the mantle of Steward of Dif Gazrak and brought the city
back to life after skirting the brink of destruction. While his people have begged him to be their king, Dezrak has
adamantly refused, as the rightful heir to the throne is still alive... somewhere. Dezrak generally wore plain,
humble clothing with a pot-shaped helmet during his brief appearance in Awakenings.
Crindol was born in the bowels of Kazaroth's Fiend Quarter. His birth parents left him for dead in a pile of
refuse a week after his birth. Crindol believes he was abandoned because of his birth deformities. Crindol Spinloft
has twisted, obviously abnormal facial features which are asymmetrical and make him an easy target for ridicule.
He was near death when a corrupt orphanage took him in. Since his infancy, Crindol has been the target of insult, physical
abuse and tactless verbal slander. Crindol's exact age isn't known, but at around age 72, Bargiss was visiting Kazaroth
when he interrupted Crindol in the midst of a severe mugging. The two quickly became friends and Bargiss invited Crindol
to stay in Orielle, and learn the ways of the goddess of love and healing, D'Aryasia. Crindol accepted and began his tenure under Bargiss' gentle teaching for six years until he was brutally slain by
his fellow student. During the Sermon of Resurgence (see Awakenings), Crindoll was resurrected by Bargiss channeling D'Aryasia's will, and empowering the process further with
his spellweaving abilities. Seth'Icus was once the devoted friend and follower of Belthas'Almon, the special drake chosen by the Ancient dragon Cambalis himself as the Prince of Lava. But first, he was a common
Fire Drake soldier, born in the craggy tops surrounding Mount Cambalis and raised as a warrior, like most others of his kind.
Seth'Icus proved to be exceptionally intelligent and was eventually recruited by a clan of slave-breeders. The clan
taught Seth'Icus the traditional ways of raising Anubi'Marich pups, but he was never content with anything average.
It was Seth'Icus who discovered that as the bitch's pregnancy matured, and she was gradually moved closer to the core
of the volcano, the Hated Breed whelps growing inside her grew even stronger than their sires. It was then that
Belthas'Almon noticed Seth'Icus and selected him as Cambalis' personal slave breeder. For the first four years,
the two became great friends, in a terrible fashion, they fed off of each other's inner hatred for life. When Belthas'Almon
was forced to attend the Temple of Sorcery in nearby Orielle, their bond grew even more sinister as Seth'Icus was left to
lead the prince's personal guard. Seth'Icus placed every ounce of his faith in his master and friend, and followed his
every command as obediently as any marichoa he had bred. It only stands to reason that when Belthas'Almon transcended
the Realm of Reality, and Seth'Icus died, that he should be reborn by his god as the first Deathbane. As a dragon whelp
is given the names of both of its parents and chooses a new name when they live to become ancients, so too did Belthas'Almon
bestow Seth'Icus with his new name.
Borrillinost
joined the Thorns of Chaos several years after Eldorion founded the guild with Zariah. Eldorion discovered a throng
of Fire Drakes fighting for their life against this relentless warrior in the crags above the city Kazaroth, where Fire
Drakes live by their own rules. Borrillinost is fearless in battle, which has left him with grotesque scarring
and hideous deformities from countless wounds and his voice was permanently damaged by a knife slice that opened
his throat. His luckless battle prowess has brought him closer with another member of the Thorns of Chaos, Gavika.
Borrillinost has developed a strong relationship with Gavika Ivywren, though no one is certain if the relationship is more
than just a physical need for the warrior as she is the guild spellweaver who has healed Borrillinost more than any other.
Other than Gavika, and perhaps more so than the healer, Borrillinost speaks mostly to his mighty weapon, Melkor.
The sand-colored, two-handed great-sword is his closest ally and perhaps the only thing in the world that he trusts.
Borrillinost is a bald High Elf with burn scars all over his head, ears, face and the right side of his body while still
more scars cover his flesh where he has been stitched back together from the brink of death. Kelviance, another member
of the Thorns of Chaos once prodded Borrillinost about his 'dwarven heritage' because of his wreckless fighting style. Borrillinost's
raspy reply was: "Melkor, do you think our dwarven brothers will like stories of killing elf assassins?"
Gavika was born an raised in the northeastern region of Kelshin's
Forest. She once lived high in the boughs of the northern redwoods where their main enemies were bands Feywash Giants,
who eventually overcame the small Wood Elf clan and decimated the northeastern redwoods. Before their eventual defeat,
Gavika had become an expert marksmen, like her kin, and had felled several of the beastly giants. As her clan dwindled,
Gavika's spellweaving abilities developed, crudely, more from the necessity to save the clan members as they were pummeled
by the brutish giants. Gavika was introduced to the Thorns of Chaos after she had stumbled upon Borrillinost, bleeding
to death in the muddy dwarven hills of Kazaroth. The twisted warior had been split open, robbed, and
left to die but the Wood Elf swept in and healed his wounds. When Borrillinost first brought her to Eldorion and Zariah,
Gavika was rejected as a potential member of the guild until Zariah tested the healer's archery skills. Gavika's
pinpoint accuracy with her longbow was skill enough to enter into the exclusive guild. Gavika bears a small, silver
dagger, embedded with a violet-glowing bloodstone on the tip of the hilt. Borrillinost once referred to it as the Maiden's
Kiss, and while Gavika has never drawn the weapon for use in combat, she is never without it.
